2009 Seniors

Alex B. WR/DB
Sr. Captain

A four year player and a two year starter at Corner, Alex is the first four year player and first captain elected from Lyme-Old Lyme as a part of our co-op football team. Early injuries in his career set Alex back from starting sooner, but his return last season helped the Warriors to much success in 2008. Besides starting on the Defense, Alex plays Wide Receiver and basically all of the Special Teams. He is one of those players that never came off the field. Alex‘s work ethic is excellent both on and off the field. He won the Squat Event in his weight class at this year’s Pequot Weight Lifting Competition and placed second overall in the entire weight class. A multi-sport athlete, Alex can be found Wrestling as a one person team of three along with East Lyme in the winter and plays Lacrosse for LOL in the spring. Alex was also honored for his work ethic in the classroom by being selected to the National Honor Society. You could say that Alex is a very well-rounded student-athlete.

Oliver G. – H-Back/LB
Sr. Captain

A four year starter at Linebacker for the Warriors, Oliver led the team in tackles the past two seasons. When you talk about “an old school football player”, you’re looking at him! Oli eats, sleeps and breathes football 24/7! Whether it is starting in the off-season in the weight room, conditioning on his own, working at pasta dinners or the lobster bakes…pretty much anything to do with the football program and you will find Oliver there! Selected as a captain by his peers, Oliver is the leader of a tough defense and was rewarded last season as the Defensive Player of the Year. He provides the Warriors with such versatility as an excellent Long Snapper and an H-Back on the “O”. Oliver will be a player to watch in the Pequot League this season and the Football Staff is excited to have him for one more season.

Logan W. – QB/DB
Sr. Captain

A four year player and a three year starter at QB, Logan was selected as a captain for the second year in a row. This is a good indication of what kind of leader he is on and off the field. On the field, Logan leads the Warrior Offense that averaged nearly 28 points a game last season. With over 600 yards rushing and 16 touchdown passes in 2008, Logan has gained a great amount of experience coming into the 2009 campaign. A throwback football player, Logan has been associated with Valley Football for basically all of his life! His two older brothers were players and captains for the Warriors. During that time, Logan was the team ball boy so he has grown up a Warrior. Logan brings much to the table for our program as a whole. The Warrior Coaching Staff views him as a coach on the field and will be looking for him to have another great year. Last season, he was voted as the Offensive Player of the Year.

Jack D. – OT/DT

A four year player and a three year Special Teams starter as Placekicker, Jack has been a mainstay at the kicking position for the Warriors. Special Team Player of the Year two seasons ago, he brings stability to the kicking game. This season, Jack will be asked to step up and join “The Dog Pound”. One of the few senior linemen, Jack has been asked to play the “O” Tackle position for the Warriors. This past spring, he was one of the bright spots for the team. On Defense, he will be asked to learn several positions: DE which he played some last season and DT which will help keep “The Dogs” fresh! If Jack brings his toughness to those positions, “The Dog Pound” will be even better this season.

Kyle C. – WR/DB

Kyle is entering his second season with the Warriors after transferring from Xavier. He was a pleasant surprise and addition to the squad as an immediate contributor in 2008 as a starter at wide receiver and a key reserve on defense in the secondary. Great hands and exceptional quickness make Kyle a weapon any time he touches the ball. Kyle is also a standout for the Warrior Basketball team and looks to have an outstanding senior season on both the gridiron and hardcourt.

Paul K. – OT/DE

Paul is a four year player and member of the “Dog Pound” and a transfer student from the great state of Oregon during his freshman year. In 2008, Paul became a varsity letter winner for the Warrior Football Team by contributing as a member of several special teams. Paul is a multi-sport athlete at Valley since he plays Lacrosse in the spring for the Warriors. The staff expects him to continue contributing to the special teams during his senior year.

Ian K. – OT/DT

Ian is out for football for the first time and obviously has the size to help on both sides of the line of scrimmage as a member of the “Dog Pound”. With some hard work, Ian has the potential to contribute to the Warrior Cause. Ian has his work cut out for him but has shown real promise early on!

Tate K. – RB/DB

Tate enters this year as a newcomer to the football program after three years of competing for the Valley Soccer Team. A solid athlete, Tate will be asked to work his way into contributing on special teams and providing depth both offensively and on defense. Early signs are encouraging as he is learning about being a Warrior Football Player.

Dom M. – RB/DB

A four year player for the Warriors, Dom brings quickness and some explosion to the Backfield. After completing an outstanding winter lifting session, he helped Valley win the first Shoreline Track and Field Championship in nearly 30 years! Dom is set to have a great season. On Defense, he is an excellent Special Teams player and will be battling for a Corner position. Dom has worked very hard over the past eight months. He had a good spring and then went on to participating in a Passing League after attending the B.C. Camp this summer. The Warrior Staff wishes Dom the best of luck this season.

Anthony P. –
QB/DB/Holder

A four year veteran and two time letter winner, Anthony was a 2008 Special Teams Player of the Year. He brings intelligence and savvy to the Warrior cause and is a key member of the team. A selfless performer and a consummate team player, the Coaches site Anthony’s leadership and preparation as invaluable contributions to the program. Anthony’s exemplary understanding of the game from his QB position and passion for the game make him a potential coach in the future.

Chris R. – WR/DB

Chris is a four year veteran who has showed progress last season but was also slowed by injury. He attended both the Boston College Football Camp this past summer and he enters his senior season looking to add depth to the receiving corps and secondary. Chris is also looking to lend his talents to the special teams. He is a coachable player with a bright future and the coaches wish him the very best.

Andrew V. – WR/DB

Andrew is a four year member of the Warrior Football Program. Injuries have hampered Andrew in the past but the coaches hope he’ll stay healthy and compete for playing time during the 20090 season. He is a spirited and loyal member of the team and looks to conclude his senior year in successful fashion.
